About This Journal
Learn more about the journal, its editorial focus and research coverage.
In addition to these core areas, Journal of International and Local Studies places particular emphasis on research that engages with the development and localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We encourage studies that examine how global frameworks are adapted to local contexts, the challenges of implementation across diverse political and cultural settings, and the role of international cooperation in advancing sustainable development. By bridging global and local perspectives, the journal seeks to highlight the dynamic interplay between international agendas and domestic realities.
The journal also welcomes contributions that explore emerging subfields of International Relations, including critical approaches to security, digital diplomacy, and the intersection of IR with technology and media studies. We are especially interested in works that interrogate the evolving nature of power, governance, and identity in a rapidly changing global order. Through this expanded scope, JILS aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and provide a platform for innovative scholarship that pushes the boundaries of traditional IR research.
