The International Journal of Disaster Management (IJDM) is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal that aims to minimize the potential impact of disasters by addressing issues related to the science and application of advanced and indigenous knowledge, culture, and local context. The journal is published three times a year (April, August, and December) and provides a platform for debates and critical thinking on topics related to humans and disasters.
Focus and Scope
The International Journal of Disaster Management (IJDM) is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal that aims to minimize the potential impact of disasters by addressing issues related to the science and application of advanced and indigenous knowledge, culture, and local context. The journal is published three times a year (April, August, and December) and provides a platform for debates and critical thinking on topics related to humans and disasters.

IJDM is managed by the Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Centre (TDMRC) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) and has been committed to publishing original and high-quality research articles since its establishment in 2017. The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, related to disaster management.

The journal covers a wide range of topics related to disaster management and adopts a multi-disciplinary approach. Key topics include lessons learned from past disasters, technology applications for disaster response, reconstruction, and mitigation; management of early response, rehabilitation, and recovery; disaster education and strategies to increase awareness and preparedness; post-disaster recovery processes and design; governance in disaster management, early-warning systems, technology and techniques, knowledge management for disaster risk reduction, GIS and remote sensing for disaster management, community-based disaster management, climate risk management, environmental aspects of disasters, natural hazards coupled with technological failures, children's protection and participation in disaster management, local and indigenous knowledge for disaster risk reduction, numerical analysis for disaster management support, and pandemic and infectious diseases.
