BIOLOVA is Jurnal of Biology Education in Magister Program (e-ISSN: 2716-473X, p-ISSN: 2716-4748) is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and academic studies in the field of Biology Education. The journal aims to advance the field of Biology Education by providing a platform for educators, researchers, and academics to share their findings and insights. BIOLOVA is dedicated to promoting the development of innovative approaches, methodologies, and educational practices in the teaching and learning of biology at the postgraduate level.

BIOLOVA welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics, including:

Biology Education

Teaching and Learning of Biology, Curriculum Development in Biology Education, Pedagogical Approaches in Biology, Biology Education Assessment, Biology Education Policies, and Educational Technology in Biology Education.
Research and Development

Educational Research in Biology, Educational Innovations in Biology, Development of Teaching Materials, Educational Media for Biology, Learning Strategies, and Teacher Professional Development in Biology Education.
Quantitative and Qualitative Research

Quantitative Methods in Biology Education, Qualitative Research in Biology Education, Experimental Research in Biology Education, and Case Studies in Biology Teaching.

All submissions to BIOLOVA undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, accuracy, and relevance of the published research. BIOLOVA is committed to promoting open access to scientific research and aims to make research widely accessible to a global audience, including educators and students in developing countries who may have limited access to expensive scientific journals. The journal seeks to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas between researchers, educators, and students in the field of Biology Education, both within the ASEAN region and worldwide.

BIOLOVA is published twice a year, in February and August, by Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro.


Types of Published Articles
BIOLOVA publishes two main types of articles: research articles and review articles.

Research Articles
Research articles in BIOLOVA report original research findings in the field of Biology Education. These articles should include a clear research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. The article should also provide a detailed discussion of the findings, their implications, and their contributions to the field of Biology Education. BIOLOVA does not accept case studies unless they have significant educational or community impact. The manuscript length, including references, must not exceed 10,000 words.
Review Articles
Review articles in BIOLOVA comprehensively examine and synthesize existing literature on specific topics in Biology Education. These articles should critically analyze current research, identify gaps in knowledge, and suggest future research directions. The format and length of review articles are more flexible compared to research articles. Review articles are typically under 12,000 words, including references.
All published articles in BIOLOVA must adhere to rigorous research standards and ethical guidelines. The journal encourages the submission of innovative and original research that advances the field of Biology Education.
