Journal Overview

About This Journal

Learn more about the journal, its editorial focus and research coverage.

Biological Environment and Pollution is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal focusing on research at the intersection of biology and environmental pollution. The journal emphasizes the "Biological Response" aspect, bridging the gap between fundamental ecotoxicology and practical, Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Published semi-annually in June and December, the journal publishes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and short communications. The scope encompasses, but is not limited to:

Biological Impact & Ecotoxicology

Biomonitoring & Bioindicators

Nature-based Solutions (NbS)

Pollution & Biodiversity Nexus

Environmental Health & One Health
Biological Environment and Pollution (BioEnviPo) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing research at the intersection of biology and environmental pollution. BioEnviPo emphasizes the "Biological Response" aspect—focusing on how living organisms (from microorganisms to humans) interact with, adapt to, or mitigate anthropogenic pollutants. We aim to bridge the gap between fundamental ecotoxicology and practical, Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Scope
The journal invites original research and critical reviews in the following niche areas:

Biological Impact & Ecotoxicology: Mechanisms of toxicity at cellular, genetic, and population levels caused by emerging contaminants (e.g., microplastics, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals).

Biomonitoring & Bioindicators: Usage of biological agents to assess environmental health and pollution risks.

Nature-based Solutions (NbS): Bioremediation, phytoremediation, and ecological engineering technologies to treat polluted environments and promote a Circular Economy.

Pollution & Biodiversity Nexus: The direct impact of pollution on biodiversity loss, habitat alteration, and ecosystem services.

Environmental Health & One Health: The critical link between environmental pollution, animal health, and human well-being.
